Rejuvenating Your Under Eye Area

Tear trough treatment is performed using injectable dermal fillers to reduce the depth of the area. By adding filler to the tear trough, the skin looks fuller, and shadows are minimized. Dr. Caroline Vargason is an oculofacial plastic surgeon who performs tear trough filler in Nampa, Idaho. Dr. Vargason has a deep understanding of the areas around the eyes and strategically places filler to achieve subtle, natural-looking results.

What Is Tear Trough Treatment?

Tear trough treatment, also known as under-eye filler, is an injectable treatment to add volume beneath the eyes. When your tear trough is deep, it can cast a shadow beneath the eyes, darkening the area and making you look tired.

Fillers used in this treatment contain hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the fluids of the eyes and joints. The gel-like filler adds volume to the area, reducing the depth of your tear trough.

How Your Treatment Is Performed

Your treatment will take place at Dr. Vargason's office. Before the treatment begins, your skin will be cleansed, and a topical anesthetic will be applied. This will help numb the area and allow you to remain comfortable.

Once the anesthetic has taken hold, the injections will begin. The syringe will be connected to a blunt-tipped cannula or a needle and injected into the skin beneath your eyes. Most patients require 1-2 injections per eye. After the injections, the area may be massaged to help evenly distribute the filler.
